Cashier / Court Clerk
Under the supervision of the Utility Billing Supervisor and the City Clerk, the Cashier-Court Clerk is a non-exempt position under FLSA. This position will perform clerical duties and will primarily be responsible for receipting incoming payments to the City. This employee should possess strong communication, accounting, organizational, public relations and basic computer skills. This employee is also responsible for all duties as a Court Clerk pertaining to the efficient operation of a municipal court.

Fire Chief/EMS Director - Application Process open until December 31, 2024
Under the supervision of the City Administrator, the Fire/EMS Director is responsible for the daily administration of the City Fire/EMS department. The Fire/EMS Director supervises all Firefighters/EMS personnel within the department and ensures that all duties of the department, most important of which are the protection of life and property within the city are carried out in an efficient and effective manner.

Firefighter/EMT, Firefighter/AEMT & Firefighter/Paramedic
Under the directionof the Fire/EMS Director this position is non-exempt under FLSA and is responsible for protecting lives and property of the public by performing fire suppression, technical rescues, hazardous materials responses and providing emergency medical care. The employee should be in excellent physical condition and have the ability to remain poised under extremely difficult and hazardous circumstances. The employee should possess a strong mechanical aptitude and effective communication and public relations skills. The employee must have a Kansas License & Certifications (will be required upon interview), and a Firefighter 1 Certification is preferred.

Electric Lineman
This position is under the direction of the Electric Superintendent. The Electric Lineman performs skilled work in the construction and maintenance of the electric distribution system. The employee in this position is responsible for exercising judgment as to the details of assigned work within prescribed operating procedures. The Electric Lineman is responsible for maintenance of electric lines, electric equipment and transformers and meters. The work is performed in potentially hazardous conditions due to the presence of energized electrical conductors and accessories. Work is performed according to departmental procedures, practices and safety regulations.
Additional Compensation Benefits this position: Neodesha Electric Department employees classified as Electric Linemen shall be offered the opportunity to enroll in a four-year Lineman training program. Upon successfully completing each year of training, the employee classified as an Electric Lineman shall receive a one dollar pay increase. Additionally, employees classified as Electric Linemen shall receive retention pay in the amount of $2,000, after taxes have been withheld. Such retention pay shall be included in the last full pay period of the year, in recognition of retaining their position with the City of Neodesha for the previous 12 months.
